Balikpapan, 19 May 2011 – PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) continued its local-scale socialization of AKSes Card.  After Pontianak, Balikpapan was the next target of KSEI in AKSes Card ownership and application campaign in Kalimantan.  The event, which was located at Hotel Novotel Balikpapan on Thursday (19/5), presented Sulistyo Budi, Director of KSEI, as the main speaker accompanied by Norico Gaman (Head Research of PT BNI Securities) and Adrian Maulana (AKSes Card Ambassador).

KSEI not only provided education concerning the function, benefit, ownership and application of AKSes Card as Single Investor ID to investors, but also socialization of Securities Companies’ obligation to provide AKSes Card to their clients for the overall Indonesia capital market activities.  The obligation, that is performed to comply with Bapepam-LK Regulation Number V.D.4, in which Securities Companies are required to provide information access to their clients to directly monitor Securities and fund protfolio, was the information delivered to the investors and media.

In responding the issuance of Bapepam-LK Regulation Number V.D.4 dated December 28, 2010, Sulistyo Budi considered it as an added-value to investors.  “Now, Investors get more comfortable in performing their transactions in Indonesia capital market.  Investors’ data security protection has been fully supported by Indonesia capital market regulator, Bapepam-LK, and we are sure that Securities Companies will be very cooperative in providing the AKSes Card to their clients,” explained Sulistyo.

Concerning the real benefit of AKSes Card the investors will directly experience, Sulistyo said, “Indonesia Stock Exchange will start implementing Single Investor ID in all Indonesia capital market activities in 2012.  Additionally, AKSes Card can serve as an integrated Securities portfolio monitoring tool.  Simply by owning AKSes Card, investors can take advantage of cross link features so they can easily monitor the ownership records of Securities owned and kept through several Securities Companies in several Sub Securities Accounts in KSEI.”

In accordance with the issuance of Bapepam-LK Regulation related Single Investor ID, Norico Gaman, Head Research of PT BNI Securities, considered it as a positive point.  “AKSes Card will give investment protection to public investors to know their investment portfolio transparency.  It will also improve the public investors’ trust in investing their funds in Securities Companies where investors can have information access to the funds invested.  On the other side, AKSes Card also give easiness to investors to monitor their investment growth so they will have proper information concerning the investment portfolio,” he said.

The information about the benefit of AKSes Card was also given by Adrian Maulana.  “With AKSes Card, investors will no longer depend on reports released by Securities Companies.  They can perform independent monitoring by conducting regular checking through AKSes Card.  This facility provides transaction and mutation records of Securities kept in KSEI Sub Accounts up to the last 30 days.  Recently, cash funds can also be monitored through AKSes Card,” said Adrian.

In line with the 100% target of AKSes Card ownership in 2011, which is the consequence of Bapepam-LK Regulation Number V.D.4, KSEI intends to improve the AKSes Card application.  Since the beginning of 2011, Balikpapan experienced an increase in AKSes Card ownership by 31.1% and in AKSes Card application by 15.07%.  It is expected by KSEI that the socialization can significantly improve the number of AKSes Card ownership and application.  It is also expected that Securities Companies can take greater role in conducting AKSes Card socialization.

As of May 16, 2011, 333 of 1,467 Sub Securities Accounts in KSEI owned by Balikpapan investors have owned AKSes Card.  Though it is not 50% yet, Balikpapan is the city with the second biggest AKSes Card ownership among other cities in Kalimantan, leaving it as the 13th city of AKSes Card ownership in province scale.

AKSes Card is a realization of investors protection that provides positive image toward Indonesia capital market industry.  As the pioneer of Single Investor ID, AKSes Card, which was launched by KSEI, is expected to become the initial step for creating a conducive climate and investors’ trust to invest more actively in Indonesia capital market.  For information and complaint concerning AKSes Card, please contact Call Center 021-515.2855 or Toll Free 0800.186.5734 or send email to
